New Jersey is known as the Garden State for a good reason! It is filled with so many incredible flower farms, fields, and gardens throughout the state. They are absolutely beautiful to visit and explore. You can find different types of flower farms from sunflower fields, tulip farms, lavender fields, and even cut flower farms! It is a fun-filled experience that is perfect for the whole family. Many of the New Jersey farms even let you pick your own flowers so you can bring beautiful bouquets home with you. In this guide, I will be sharing the most beautiful flower farms to visit in New Jersey that I recommend adding to your bucket list!
North Jersey Flower Farms
Alstede Farms
Alstede Farms is a fun flower farm to visit in New Jersey! It is located in Chester and they have a sunflower field that you can visit from July through October. They have a Blooming Giants Sunflower Trail that you can explore.
Alstede Farm is filled with a bunch of different activities throughout the year. You can pick your own strawberries, peas, raspberries, blueberries, beans, peaches, blackberries, peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, flowers, potatoes, apples, and pumpkins. In addition to pick-your-own, they have live entertainment, children’s activities, friendly farm animals, an adventure maze, a farm store, homemade ice cream and even wine tastings provided by Tomasello Winery. During the holiday season, they even sell Christmas trees, wreaths, and other holiday decor.
They also have fun farm events and festivals. One of their cool events is a pancake brunch, which includes an all-you-can-eat farm to table buffet, tractor drawn wagon ride, and admission to their fields and orchards. They have blueberry and peach pancakes in the summer and pumpkin pancakes in the fall. Check out their events page for more information!
Mad Lavender Farm
Mad Lavender is a fun whimsical 10 acre farm located in Milford. They have seven different varieties of lavender, a lavender labyrinth, and a line of lavender products. All of their products are made by hand on the farm. You can find everything from candles to lip balms. They are open Friday through Sunday from 10am to 2pm.
The farm offers different workshops and events that you can sign up for. Some of their workshops are Oil Distillation and Herbal Infusion. They also have goat yoga classes!
Von Thun Farms
Von Thun Farms is located in South Brunswick and Washington, NJ. The Washington location is home to the New Jersey Sunflower Trail. This trail is open daily from July through Labor Day and features tens of thousands of blooms and 15+ unique photo ops like their classic red truck, orange Chevy bench, and antique barn doors.
Weekday visitors can wander the trail, cut their own flowers, visit the animal farm, pick fruit that it’s in season, and shop the farm market. On weekends, you can take a hayride around the farm. On their farm, you can also pick strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, peaches, apples and pumpkins.
If you are looking for fun fall adventures, their Fall Festival weekends start September 17th for their corn maze, apple picking, pumpkin picking and family events.

Stony Hill Farms
Stony Hill Farms is a family-owned farm located in Chester, New Jersey. The farm offers a variety of seasonal activities and attractions, including pick-your-own fruits and vegetables, a corn maze, pumpkin picking in the fall, and sunflower fields. Every year they have a Sunflower Festival.
They have 2.5 acres of sunflowers and eight different varieties of sunflowers for your viewing and picking pleasure. In one field, you can walk through the fields and take photos. In their second sunflower field, you can cut your own sunflowers.
Each festival ticket includes a wagon ride to the sunflower fields, time to take photos and enjoy the sunflowers, live music, and access to vendors. They have food and drinks at a concession stand where you can choose items like pulled pork, roasted corn, ice cream, snacks and drinks.
Melick’s Town Farm
Melick’s Town Farm has multiple locations, but they have many varieties of flowers growing from July through September at their Oldwick location. Visitors can enjoy the flowers and the beautiful butterflies that are attracted to the gardens. They charge per stem and also have pre-picked bouquets available at the market. Make sure to check out their gift and garden shop where they sell a variety of jams and jellies, baked goods, gifts, and their farm fresh fruits and vegetables.
South Jersey Flower Farms
Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm
Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm is a family-run farm in Jobstown, NJ. Throughout the season, they have pick-your-own, fun events, and a farm market.
In spring from mid-May through June, you can pick sweet strawberries. In the summer from June to August, you can pick peaches, sunflowers, field flowers, cherry tomatoes and blackberries. From September to October, they have a fall harvest where they have live music, a corn maze, apple cider donuts, and more! You can also go apple, pumpkin and sunflower picking.
Ward’s Farm
Ward’s Farm is an organic, cut flower farm in Salem, NJ that specializes in field grown cut flowers. They host BYOB Date Nights and Picnics where guests can enjoy the fields and pick their own sunflowers and wildflowers. In the fall months, pumpkins are also available.
Spring Wind Farm
Spring Wind Farm is a specialty cut flower farm in Cream Ridge, NJ. They offer a variety of ways to get their farm fresh flowers – Flower Club CSA, special arrangements, wholesale flowers, DIY flower buckets, workshops on and off the farm, and a la carte events.
For local bouquets and arrangements, you can participate in their Flower Club for a weekly or bi-weekly subscription. They have a seasonal roadside stand on the farm that you can visit or you can email them to place an order for a special event!
Holland Ridge Farm
Holland Ridge Farm is one of the most beautiful flower farms to visit in New Jersey. In the spring, it is known for its stunning tulip fields. And in the fall, they have flower fields filled with sunflowers, gladiolus, calla lilies and dahlias. You can pick your own flowers and create a bouquet to bring home with you!
In addition to their flower fields, Holland Ridge has food trucks, a bakery barn with sweet treats, live music, pony rides and a petting zoo. You can even take a free hayride around the farm.
General admission tickets to visit the farm are $15 per person. You must select the day and arrival time of your visit.
Happy Day Farm
Happy Day Farm is such a cute flower farm to visit in New Jersey! In June, they have a gorgeous lavender farm. At the end of the summer, they also have sunflowers and zinnias.
In the summer, you can also pick raspberries and blueberries at their farm. I also love visiting their farm in the fall. They have pumpkin picking, a corn maze, and Pumpkinville which consists of their pumpkin houses. They also have fall festival days where you can participate in over 35 fun family activities.
Admission to the lavender fields is $15 per person and during the fall, it is $27 per person on weekends and $21 during the weekday. This fall ticket includes access to all the fall activities including the sunflower and zinnia flower fields.
Moonshot Farm
Moonshot Farm is a specialty cut flower farm located in East Windsor, NJ. They primarily sell cut flowers and bouquets.
They grow flowers year-round in their fields and greenhouses. Here are some of the flowers they grow:
- Spring: ranunculus, anemones, speciality tulips, daffodils, poppies, alliums
- Summer: lisianthus, sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, lilies
- Fall: dahlias, heirloom chrysanthemums, ornamental kale, dried grains and grasses
- Winter: tulips, ranunculus, freesia, anemones, stock
You can visit their self-serve flower farm stand every Sunday. They also sell flowers at these farmer’s markets:
- Fridays at the Union Square Greenmarket in New York City
- Saturdays at Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket in Brooklyn
- Saturdays at West Windsor Community Farmers Market in NJ
Johnson’s Corner Farm
Johnson’s Corner Farm is a family owned and operated farm in Medford. It is home to the most visited sunflower maze in New Jersey! Their sunflower celebration is a fun filled experience with a wagon ride, pictures in the sunflower maze, and flower picking.
During the spring and summer, you can also pick a variety of fruits and vegetables like strawberries, peaches, string beans, sweet corn, and more! In the fall, Johnson’s Corner Farm has apple and pumpkin picking, hayrides and a corn maze. They even have a Christmas hayride with a musical light show during the holidays.

Dalton Farms
Dalton Farms in Swedesboro, NJ is another beautiful flower farm to visit in New Jersey where you can find sunflowers, dahlias, and tulips! Their sunflower and dahlia season starts at the end of summer and goes through mid-October. You can visit their tulips in April.
Tickets to visit the flower are $13 per person if you order them online and $18 at the door. On weekends, they have a food and beer garden by the Red Hen of Swedesboro, Octoberfest in the fall, and other vendors that will change weekly.
