Before becoming parents, Carl and I wanted to plan one last trip with just the two of us before baby arrives. We decided on going to the Caribbean so we can relax and unwind. A babymoon in St. Lucia was the perfect option. We thought it was unique compared to other islands in the Caribbean with its stunning mountain views and lush rainforest. We spent three days at Sugar Beach Viceroy Resort and had an amazing stay. In this St Lucia Sugar Beach Viceroy Resort review, I will be sharing all the details of our stay and everything we did on our babymoon in St. Lucia.
About the Resort
St Lucia Sugar Beach Viceroy Resort is nothing short of magical. It’s situated between the two iconic Pitons and has breathtaking views of the Caribbean. I love the combination of the lush greenery of the rainforest and the crystal clear waters – absolutely beautiful! Whether you are visiting for a family vacation, honeymoon, friends’ getaway, or a babymoon like us, this resort is perfect for any occasion.
This resort is also a huge property and it’s very hilly! However, you don’t have to worry about walking everywhere because there are shuttles that can take you wherever you need go to within the resort. All you have to do is call your butler and most of the time they come within a few minutes!
Service
The service at St Lucia Sugar Beach Viceroy Resort is amazing. Each room gets their own butler and an old-school cell phone with their number. You can call or text them 24/7 with anything you need. You can arrange a ride to one of the restaurants or the beach, ask about resort activities, or request a toiletry item you forgot.
We loved our butler, MacKenzie. He was so kind and friendly and helped us with anything we needed. For instance, he knew I was short for our private pool so he surprised me with a pool noodle so I can float in the pool. He was also so sweet for giving me a pregnancy pillow and surprising us by decorating our villa for our babymoon. He even hand wrote a card for us and gave us sparkling apple cider.

Our Room
We booked a luxury villa, but since it was our babymoon, the staff surprised us with an upgrade to a two bedroom residence villa. Our villa was incredible! In addition to two bedrooms and two bathrooms, we also had a living room, dining room, and kitchen.
The terrace was my favorite part. We had a large sun terrace with an infinity pool and amazing views of the ocean and Piton mountain views. After a morning at the beach, we spent the rest of the afternoon in our private pool before getting ready for dinner.

- This is their beachfront restaurant that serves lunch and dinner. You will enjoy dishes inspired by St. Lucia and every evening they play live music.
- Jalousie Grill
- This is their relaxed beachside grill that is open for lunch and dinner.
- Saltwood
- This is their formal dining room that has incredible views of the Pitons and the beach that serves steaks and seafood
- The Cane Bar
- This is their chic restaurant with a Southeast Asian menu offering a variety of small plates

- This is their sophisticated and elegant lounge bar that serves bar bites and pre-dinner cocktails

There are so many things to do at St Lucia Sugar Beach Viceroy Resort. They offer a mix of activities and excursions that cater to a wide range of interests. Whether you are seeking relaxation, adventure, or cultural exploration, the resort has something for everyone. Since I was pregnant on this trip, we didn’t do any activities or excursions, but it was awesome to know how much the resort had to offer.

Relax on the Beach
Sugar Beach is a beautiful beach with clear turquoise waters. The iconic Pitons provide a breathtaking backdrop, creating a picturesque setting for relaxation. One of the best things to do in St. Lucia is to relax on the beach. I also loved that the resort has round lounge beds in the water.
Indulge in Spa Treatments
Treat yourself to a massage, facial or body treatment at the Rainforest Spa. They even have signature treatments like bamboo massages, hot rock therapies, facials, body wraps, salt scrubs, polishes, and holistic treatments. Their spa recently made several enhancements – you can now book a couples treehouse treatment room that overlooks the mountains and forest. They also have a new beachside wellness and fitness facility, featuring a yoga studio and cardio equipment room.
Water Sports
The resort offers a variety of water sports like sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and snorkeling. They even have scuba diving.
Boat Tour
St Lucia Sugar Beach Viceroy Resort offers a variety of boat tours. You can take a romantic sunset cruise along the coastline of St. Lucia. They offer half day and full day catamaran experiences. You can even go whale and dolphin watching or book a speed boat or sailing tour.
Botanical Gardens Tour
Visit the Diamond Falls Botanical Garden. The 30 to 40 minute trail leads to a sulphurous waterfall and hot mineral bath spring.
Chocolate Tours
