In this blog post, I wanted to share my New Year’s Resolutions. I love that the beginning of a new year feels like a fresh start. I love making goals and working towards them throughout the year. I broke them out into categories: nutrition, fitness, and life.
Eating Less Sugar
I have the biggest sweet tooth ever! I have no self-control and since I went crazy during the holidays, I knew I wanted to start the year off with eliminating the amount of sugar I eat. I decided to do a 30 day sugar detox for the month of January, where I eliminate all added sugar. I’m halfway done and I’ve definitely been feeling more energetic and less bloated.
Focusing More on Whole Ingredients
This year I really want to focus on paying attention to the ingredients of the foods I eat. I want to make an effort to eat whole foods that have real ingredients and are minimally processed.
Complete the Power Program on the Sweat App
One of my favorite workout routines is the Power Program by Kelsey Wells on the Sweat App. It is a mix of HIIT workouts and weight training. There are four levels, where each level is a 12 week program. My goal for this year is to complete all 48 weeks of her program.
Do More Yoga
Every year I tell myself that I want to get into yoga and 2020 is going to be the year! I recently joined Core Power Yoga and I love it. My goal is to go to classes 2-3 times a week. Yoga has so many benefits so I’m excited to see the difference after going for a few months.
With working full-time, working out, blogging, and wedding planning, life has been pretty stressful to make time to get everything done. I know you can’t eliminate stress completely, but I really want to focus on balance. It’s easy to get overwhelmed, but I want to really focus on being organized and taking each day at a time and to remind myself that it’s okay to take a break every once in a while.
